Tokyo Cool Arrives! Comme des Garçons for H & M arrives November 13th

I've always been a fan of designer Rei Kawakubo's avant guard and cutting edge designs. I had two of her menswear inspired suits and a white blouse, but ended up selling them on eBay. I do still own a pair of rayon knit black long shorts. I do love those shorts, they look very sculptural and Japanese and I'll never sell them on eBay. If you've been fortunate enough to visit Tokyo you'll want to clothe yourself in Comme des Garcons' and become like the other Japanese fashionistas who look so thoroughly hip and creative you'll wonder where such inspiration comes from. Once you look around you'll see why - TOO many shops with amazing clothes which perhaps makes it easy to develop that non-chalant coolness prevalent in neighborhoods like Aoyama and Harajuku.


Next week Kawakubo will bring her avant guard designs to the masses when H&M launches a more affordable version from this most recent collaboration. Fans of Comme des Garcons' dark palettes and often distressed and torn appearance will revel in these timeless shapes. We especially love the double breasted coat. "Elaborate tailoring, shirts, knits and a series of playful jersey pieces in dramatic black and midnight blue with accents of white and rose”, says H&M’s Creative Advisor Margareta van den Bosch.

The collection for men and women and including accessories will only be available in eight stores across the US. Doors open at 10am on Thursday Nov. 13th! We suggest arriving early, but how early is up to you...

Thi Cosmetics Plum Beauty Event: November 8 & 14, SF Bay Area

Many Asian women, including myself have been makeup challenged when it comes to finding the perfect shade of foundation, blush, and lip color - not to mention the eyelash issue .  So you can imagine how thrilled I was to discover makeup artist Taylor Pham's cosmetic line, Thi Cosmetics. I came across the line thru word of mouth and then attempted to hire Taylor to do the makeup for my wedding. Although Taylor was booked, I hired Suzanne Lee of Bloom Studio. My makeup was stunning and Suzanne used primarily the Thi Cosmetics line including the amazing Thi Cosmetics Lush Lashes . I have to say I was so pleased I bought pretty much the entire line of Thi Cosmetics. I continue to rave and recommend the lashes to everyone I know, especially to brides who aspire to look beyond beautiful on their wedding day.
