Repetto For Comme des Garcons Ballet Flat

Ballet flats are a lifesaver and can be a girl' best friend. Once you are hooked on flats you can never go back (to heels!) again. Unless there is a rare special occasion. I've been wearing Repetto ballet flats and am a devoted fan. I have about eight pairs of Repettos in all shapes and sizes including the two shades of the Demeter ankle tie style. Oh la la! I even wore a special 'slipper' type style that is almost impossible to find with my wedding gown. 

The recent popularity of this authentic ballet shoe maker has garnered a loyal following. It seems that Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garcons is also a fan, as we spotted a limited editioin Repetto For Comme des Garcons Ballet Flat. at Saks.com. I think what fascinates me most is how each shoe is still handmade in the Repetto factory in Perigord, France. Check out the video on their site to see how the shoes are made. It will make you want to toss on your tutu and chassé across the room!

Marc Jacobs Spring 2008 collection hit the runway Monday night. As the celeb filled front row looked on Marc Jacobs' collection which tread on flowing gossamer-esque hollywood glamour gowns also showed belted tunics paired with cropped brocade pants and jaunty little straw hats.
